FAQ’s
How much do you charge to paint a room?
This is our most popular question, and the answer is never straightforward, as every room is different. For example, a previously painted mid-sized bedroom in a semi-detached property in good condition can vary from £600 to £1200. The condition and size of the area usually determine the price before expenses, which is why we always prefer to give a physical inspection and then email the client with an estimate, including a detailed breakdown of the work we believe is needed.
Do you paint externally?
Yes. We usually start our external projects from April until September, as the days are longest and the weather is (usually!) good. We paint everything from houses, including Grade II listed buildings, to shop fronts, summerhouses, sheds, and fences.
Do you use water or oil-based paints?
We use water-based products on all of our jobs, internal and external, unless specifically requested by clients or if there is a particular substrate that requires an oil or solvent-based product. Water-based paints have improved significantly over the past 10 years, offering quality that is as high as, if not higher than, most oil-based products. They also dry faster, are more environmentally friendly, and are virtually odourless.
We use premium brand paints, including Tikkurila, Benjamin Moore, Johnstones Trade, Keim, Renner, Dulux Trade, Weathertex, and Emperor paints. Our equipment list includes Purdy and Hamilton brushes and rollers, as well as Graco, Tritech Tesa, Kip and Q1 equipment for our spraying projects.
Do you hang paper?
Yes. Wallpaper has become more popular in recent years, and we have worked with numerous clients who have asked us to hang everything from William Morris to Versace paper.
Do you paint kitchen cabinets?
Yes. Depending on the circumstances and environment, we can spray or brush a tired kitchen to make it look new.
Do you paint commercial properties?
Yes. We have painted garage floors and large warehouses using two-part epoxy-based industrial-strength paints designed to withstand heavy-duty usage, such as forklift trucks and car traffic.
